Desktop Configuration Engineer Europe Apply Locations: Italy, Asti Time Type: Full time Posted on: Posted 3 Days Ago Job Requisition ID: R00025185 Come Innovate Motion with us We are seeking for the Europe Region (17 locations, 2800 IT managed computers) a detail-oriented and experienced Desktop Configuration Engineer to join our Europe IT team and be a part of our new IT Infrastructure competence center in Italy. In this role, you will be responsible for configuring and optimizing client endpoint systems to ensure optimal performance, security, and user experience. You will collaborate closely with other IT teams and end-users to understand their requirements and implement efficient desktop configurations. The ideal candidate has a strong technical background, expertise in desktop configuration tools, and a passion for delivering high-quality solutions. Your responsibilities will be to: Desktop Configuration: Design, implement, and maintain standardized desktop configurations based on business requirements, industry best practices, and security guidelines. Image Creation and Deployment: Develop desktop images using tools such as Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT) or other imaging solutions. Deploy and manage desktop images across the organization. Software Packaging and Deployment: Package and deploy software applications using tools like Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) or similar solutions. Ensure proper installation, configuration, and compatibility of software packages. Patch Management: Follow the patch management strategies to keep desktop systems up to date with the latest security patches, bug fixes, and updates. Test and deploy patches using automated deployment tools. Endpoint Security: Implement security measures and configurations to protect desktop systems against malware, unauthorized access, and data breaches. Ensure compliance with security policies and industry regulations. Group Policy Management: Configure and manage Group Policies to enforce desktop security policies, standardize settings, and streamline desktop management across the organization. Performance Optimization: Analyze and optimize desktop configurations to enhance performance, boot times, and resource utilization. Identify and resolve configuration-related performance issues. System Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor desktop configurations, track performance metrics, and generate reports on configuration compliance, software inventory, and hardware assets. Documentation and Training: Create detailed documentation, configuration guides, and user manuals for desktop configurations. Provide training and knowledge transfer to support teams and end-users. Collaboration and Support: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including network administrators, system administrators, and security teams, to ensure seamless integration and support for desktop configurations. Our requirements: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). Proven experience as a Desktop Engineer or in a similar role focused on desktop configuration. Strong knowledge of MS Windows operating systems and their configuration options. Proficiency in desktop configuration tools and technologies, such as Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT), Microsoft Autopilot, Group Policy, or similar solutions. Experience with software packaging and deployment tools, such as Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) or equivalent. Familiarity with endpoint security practices, including antivirus software, encryption, and access controls. Solid understanding of network protocols, Active Directory, and domain environments. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex configuration issues. Excellent documentation and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Relevant certifications, such as Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, are a plus.
