We are currently searching for an IV&V Engineer to join our team and support validation and coordination activities foreseen within our Services. The position is framed within the Serco Copernicus Services, unit responsible for supporting all Copernicus Sentinels missions in the provision of operations, maintenance and coordination services. You will be involved in all maintenance activities to integrate new tools in our services: design phase, technical team follow-up, testing campaigns and support to the Transfer to Operation. Also the integration of new Services and interfaces in the Copernicus Space Ecosystem will be part of your job. The coordination of these integrations is required to ensure minimal services degradations and operations interruptions. Main Responsibilities Coordinate end-to-end system integration: Oversee the integration of multiple systems, ensuring that each component works seamlessly with others and with all mission-specific operations and tools. Coordination of validation tests: Conduct and oversee service providers validation tests to ensure that all integrated systems meet operational and functional requirements. Perform internal IVV and maintenance: conduct the validation tests of the service system elements and follow up the maintenance processes of the components involved. Identify and resolve integration issues: Monitor the integration process, identifying and addressing any issues that arise, ensuring minimal downtime. Document integration procedures: Maintain detailed documentation of the integration process, including workflows, tools, and techniques used. Collaborate with technical teams: Work closely with development and operations teams to ensure smooth integration and timely validation. Successful Candidate Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and respond to complex mission data. Proven organizational skills to manage complex workflows and ensure seamless collaboration across teams. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines and operational demands. Experience with Atlassian tools, including Jira for action management, issue and anomaly processing and tracking, and Confluence for documentation and knowledge sharing. Strong communication and mediation skills for coordinating with multiple stakeholders. Proficiency in writing technical documentation, such as test procedures, reports, system design documents, and interface control documents. English Level B2 (Upper-Intermediate), written and spoken. Experience in coordinating activities involving multiple services, entities, and stakeholders. Experience in planning, scheduling, and tracking operational tasks across a distributed team. Hands-on experience with Integration, Validation, and Verification (IV&V) activities, particularly software testing. Knowledge of Linux/Unix Operating System environment and scripting. Experience working on aerospace projects, ideally involving Earth Observation (EO) systems or satellite missions. Familiarity with ITIL and Agile methodologies for service management and project execution. Knowledge of Copernicus program. Experience of System Engineering processes (e.g., ECSS standard). Experience with Cloud infrastructure. Knowledge of programming languages (e.g. Python). Knowledge of containerized applications (e.g. Docker). Knowledge of relational and NoSQL Databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, Solr). Knowledge of Identity Access Management (e.g. Keycloak). Relocation Rome's central location in Italy offers excellent transportation links within the city and across the country.
