Lead Software Developer - Full Stack Technologies

You would be a good fit for this role if you are a skilled and qualified Full Stack Developer that has experience specialising in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and SQL. Your strong background in creating and maintaining web servers using Node.js and Express is key, as well as being proficient in developing front-end applications using React and templating with EJS. Additionally, you should possess the ability to write PowerShell scripts for backend processes. Strategic Focus : - Build and lead a software development team based in our India office. - Work alongside the UK development team and external suppliers to architect, design and deliver agreed projects. - Coordinate with the wider Technical and Innovation team to identify and develop new products and services. - Design, develop, and maintain web applications using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. - Develop and manage SQL databases, ensuring efficient data storage and retrieval. - Create and maintain web servers using Node.js and Express. - Develop dynamic front-end applications using React and EJS for templating. - Write and execute PowerShell scripts for backend automation and process management. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features. - Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications. - Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs. - Maintain code quality, organisation, and automation. - Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure our solutions remain current and effective. Qualifications and Experience : - Proven experience as a Full Stack Developer or similar role. - Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. - Extensive experience with SQL databases and query optimization. - Proficient in Node.js and Express for server-side development. - Experience with React and EJS for front-end development and templating. - Ability to write and execute PowerShell scripts. - Understanding of web development best practices and design patterns. - Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git). - Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. - Strong communication and teamwork abilities. - Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent practical experience. Preferred Skills : - Experience with other JavaScript frameworks and libraries. - Familiarity with cloud platforms and services (e.g., AWS, Azure). - Knowledge of Docker and containerisation. - Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. - Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices. - Experience in leading a small team. - System Architecture and Design. - Excellent communication and spoken English. - 5 years' experience in proven delivery. - Experience of working with Geospatial Data, including point clouds and photogrammetry, is desirable.
