Principal Product Designer - Figma/Sketch/Adobe XD

Our partner is looking for an experienced Principal Product Designer to join their Product Design function. You will partner with leaders across product, engineering, marketing, and sales to understand and scope the company's design needs as a whole. You will be a critical member focused on growing the design team, coaching & mentoring its members, and defining a vision to elevate the design organization. Qualification : - 5 years of hands-on experience as a UX/Product Designer, building and shipping web and mobile apps/features. - 2 years of experience managing and building teams. - Experience designing self-serve SaaS products is preferred. Key Responsibilities : Research & Strategy : Lead user research defining goals, building hypotheses, and bringing insights to their product development process. Leadership and Mentorship : Invest in growth and mentorship of Product Designers designing programs for learning and raising the bar for the Product Design function. Strategy and Execution : Partner with Product Managers and Engineering to define product vision and deliver high-quality designs and products for their 25K users. Champion Users : - Establish their design strategy and vision through a deep understanding of their users and their needs. - Leverage this to build a design system that will scale with their business. Designing : - Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that effectively communicate design concepts and interactions across web/mobile interfaces. Scalable Culture : - Build a culture of documentation and scalability through design reviews, component libraries, and continuous feedback. - Stay connected with industry trends, design best practices, etc., to ensure a culture of growth. Skills : - Experience designing self-serve products (ideally SaaS) users love and use globally including driving research, establishing design principles, and building iteratively. - Collaborative builder excited about building relationships with their global customers but also internal teams such as customer success, marketing, and engineering. - Strong communication skills can clearly articulate the "why" behind design decisions to cross-functional teams; comfortable giving and receiving feedback. - Ability to prioritize, manage, and execute work in a rapidly growing, fast-paced, and ambiguous environment. - A strong portfolio showcasing your process and work and demonstrating user-centered design methods and principles, including quantitative and qualitative research methods. - Experience : 5 years of experience in UI/UX design, with a strong portfolio demonstrating a history of designing successful mobile and web products. - Design Tools : Expertise in design software such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, and other industry-standard tools. - User-Centred Design : Deep understanding of UX methodologies, user research, and best practices for creating intuitive and accessible interfaces. - Prototyping : Experience in creating interactive prototypes for user testing and stakeholder presentations.
