Head of Information Technology - Cloud Infrastructure

We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Group DevOps Head to lead the DevOps strategy, implementation, and management across the organization. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in driving automation, improving deployment speed, and fostering collaboration between software development and operations teams to achieve seamless, reliable, and scalable applications and services. Key Responsibilities : Leadership & Strategy : - Define and implement the organization's DevOps vision and strategy aligned with business goals. - Lead and mentor a team of DevOps, NOC, and IT engineers, driving high performance, collaboration, and continuous learning. - Foster a DevOps culture across the development, QA, and operations teams to drive continuous integration, delivery, and deployment (CI/CD). - Collaborate with other department heads, including development, infrastructure, security, and IT to ensure smooth product and infrastructure delivery. Infrastructure Management : - Oversee and manage cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Oracle Cloud, Azure) ensuring optimal performance, cost-efficiency, and scalability. - Lead efforts in cloud migration, automation of infrastructure provisioning, and improving disaster recovery and backup processes. - Drive the adoption of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible. - Managing of the existing DC CI/CD Pipeline Development : - Design, build, and maintain scalable CI/CD pipelines for various development teams to streamline the deployment process. - Implement best practices in version control, automated testing, and deployment strategies, ensuring code quality and consistency. - Ensure integration with monitoring and alerting systems for real-time feedback on pipeline status. Cost Optimization : - Develop and execute strategies for cost optimization across cloud infrastructure, ensuring efficient resource utilization without compromising performance. - Regularly analyze cloud spend and resource usage, identifying opportunities to reduce wastage and improve cost-effectiveness. - Implement financial monitoring and alerting tools to track cost efficiency across projects and workloads. Research & Development (R&D) : - Stay ahead of industry trends by conducting R&D on emerging DevOps tools, techniques, and methodologies. - Experiment with new technologies and frameworks to assess their potential for increasing productivity, performance, and operational efficiency. - Lead pilots for innovative solutions and proof-of-concepts to identify tools that can advance the organization's DevOps practices. AI Integration : - Explore and integrate AI/ML solutions into DevOps practices to optimize automation, predict infrastructure failures, and improve deployment pipelines. - Leverage AI for monitoring and predictive maintenance to reduce downtime and improve system reliability. - Implement intelligent automation in CI/CD pipelines for faster, more accurate deployments and issue resolution. Automation & Efficiency : - Lead automation initiatives to reduce manual intervention, enhance productivity, and minimize operational errors. - Develop and manage strategies for environment consistency, automated testing, and performance optimization. - Implement containerization and orchestration solutions like Docker, Kubernetes, or similar platforms to enhance efficiency. Security & Compliance : - Collaborate with the security team to ensure security best practices are integrated into the CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure, and deployment processes. - Oversee incident management and postmortem process for production issues, ensuring timely resolution and root cause analysis. - Ensure compliance with industry standards such as GDPR, SOC2, and other relevant data protection and privacy regulations. Monitoring & Performance : - Implement and maintain real-time monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to proactively identify and address infrastructure and application issues. - Ensure the availability and reliability of critical services, minimizing downtime and reducing incident response time. - Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system performance, reliability, and scalability. Getting Things Done : - Cultivate a "get things done" mindset within the DevOps team by promoting proactive problem-solving and accountability. - Drive team productivity and ensure project timelines are met by removing bottlenecks and addressing challenges head-on. - Encourage innovation while maintaining focus on delivering practical, scalable solutions to meet business needs. Key Qualifications : - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. - 10 years of experience in DevOps, Cloud infrastructure management, and automation. - 3 years in a leadership role, managing a high-performing DevOps team. - Proven experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. - Strong proficiency in DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Git, Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, Terraform, and similar technologies. - Experience with scripting and programming languages like Python, Bash, or Go for automation purposes. - Strong understanding of security best practices, including secure SDLC, vulnerability management, and DevSecOps. - Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. - Experience with incident management and disaster recovery processes. - Familiarity with microservices architecture and agile methodologies. Preferred Qualifications : - Certification in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Professional Cloud Architect). - Experience working in fast-paced, high-growth environments. - Knowledge of observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK stack. - Familiarity with databases and caching systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis) (ref:hirist.tech)
