Technical Lead - Moodle/PHP

Role : Technical Lead (Moodle PHP) Location : Mumbai (Work From Office) Shift : 1 PM to 10 PM (UK Shift) Experience : 8 years in Moodle development, administration, and integration Job Overview : We are looking for an experienced Technical Lead with strong expertise in Moodle and PHP to lead a team of developers, drive projects, and ensure the delivery of high-quality e-learning solutions. The role requires a balance of technical knowledge, team leadership, and effective communication to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Key Responsibilities : - Lead the development, customization, and integration of Moodle Learning Management System (LMS) to meet business and client requirements. - Manage a team of developers and guide them through the software development lifecycle, from requirement analysis to deployment. - Collaborate with clients and internal teams to define project scope, technical specifications, and delivery timelines. - Ensure optimal performance, scalability, and security of Moodle implementations. - Oversee Moodle plugin development, theme customization, and integration with third-party systems. - Provide technical support and resolve complex issues related to Moodle and web technologies. - Maintain and document project architecture, code quality, and deployment procedures. - Stay updated with the latest trends in Moodle, e-learning technologies, and software development best practices. Technical Skills : Moodle Expertise : - Strong experience in Moodle development including plugin development, theme customization, and system integration. - Familiarity with Moodle architecture and database management. - Knowledge of LMS security best practices and implementation. Programming : - PHP (expert level), MySQL, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, AJAX. - Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts and MVC frameworks. Web Services : - Experience with REST and SOAP APIs for integrating Moodle with other systems. - Understanding of Single Sign-On (SSO) technologies. Server Management : - Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments, including server management and troubleshooting. - Knowledge of web servers such as Apache and Nginx. Soft Skills : - Leadership : Proven ability to lead and mentor a team, manage timelines, and ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions. - Problem-Solving : Strong analytical skills to resolve complex technical issues and deliver robust, scalable solutions. - Communication : Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with clients, team members, and stakeholders. - Collaboration : Ability to work in cross-functional teams and adapt to evolving project requirements. Educational Qualifications : - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Preferred Experience : - Prior experience working in a client-facing role, especially with UK-based or international clients. - Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies. - Exposure to e-learning or educational technology projects.
