Data Engineer - Business Intelligence

Position Name : Data Engineer-BI Location : Pune(Work from offi Experience : 3 to 8 years Responsibilities : - Lead the migration of SQL Server and SSAS data models to Databricks, ensuring a seamless transition with optimized performance. - Conduct a POC to evaluate Microsoft Fabric, AtScale, and Cube.dev for semantic layer adoption based on scalability, performance, and cost. - Convert complex DAX calculations from Power BI models into the new semantic layer, ensuring performance and data accuracy. - Architect and implement scalable Star Schema structures to support advanced reporting, focusing on Hierarchies, Dimensions, Facts, and Metrics. - Develop and optimize ETL pipelines for data integration and smooth transition from legacy systems. - Fine-tune DAX and T-SQL queries to ensure high-performance querying and analytics in the new semantic layer. Requirements : Core Skills : - Expertise in BI concepts: Star Schema, Hierarchies, Dimensions, Facts, Metrics, and Calculations in large-scale data warehousing. - Advanced experience in developing and optimizing DAX expressions in Power BI and translating them into new semantic technologies (AtScale, Cube.dev). - Strong T-SQL proficiency for querying, manipulating, and transforming large datasets using joins, subqueries, and window functions. - Hands-on experience with modern platforms: Databricks, Snowflake, or Microsoft Fabric, focusing on migration, performance tuning, and data architecture. - In-depth ETL knowledge with experience in data integration, transformation, and loading for scalable analytics. Additional Skills (Good to Have) : - Experience migrating Power BI models from Azure Analysis Services (AAS) to platforms like Microsoft Fabric, AtScale, or Cube.dev. - Certifications in Databricks, Snowflake, or Microsoft Fabric. - Experience in cloud-native data migration projects (Azure, Databricks, Snowflake). - Hands-on experience conducting POC evaluations for BI platforms, assessing performance and scalability.
