System Administrator

We are currently looking for an experienced System Administrator to be based in Germany for the upcoming two years. He/she will be working exclusively in the IT Team of one of our most important clients.

The ideal candidate will design, organize, and modify the company's computer systems. This individual will evaluate and assess systems to ensure they are operating effectively. Based on assessments, this individual will harness collected knowledge and make adjustments to existing systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain system efficiency
• Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups
• Verify that any back-up procedures are carried out and have been verified as successful in line with employee IT policies
• Maintain operational, configuration, or other policies and procedures as instructed
• Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning
• Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required
• Maintain data centre environmental and monitoring equipment
• Ensure system design allows all components to work together properly
• Make recommendations for upgrades
• Evaluate and modify system performance

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
• You are proficient in English. German language skills would also be a plus
• You are willing to relocate to Germany (Passau area)
• Minimum of four years practical hands-on experience in a similar role (e.g. System Administrator)
