If you are excited to develop yourself and your ability while developing today’s way of working, you could be our new The Product Development & Engineering unit within SKF Technology, located in Villar Perosa, has the responsibility to support the SuPB factories located in Italy (currently Villar Perosa and Pianezza and then the new factory in Airasca) as well as leading Product Development Process activities transforming customer needs into drawings and specifications. As Product Development Engineer within the Product Development & Engineering team, you will be part of a team that works closely with both the SuPB factories, offering an interesting opportunity to fully experience how product specifications impact the manufacturing process. You will also collaborate with Business development, Sales, and Customers on development projects that provide solutions for applications where precision engineering dictates the needs and performances are pushed to the limits. Being in this exciting and central role and working with different stakeholders creates the need to handle a multitude of tasks: our approach is to design systems/processes or automations tailored for our needs, allowing us to deliver the best quality with the least possible effort. As we say: “if you have to do it more than twice, then it’s time to automate it.” What we are looking for We seek someone who can effectively convert stakeholders’ inputs and requests into comprehensive technical documents and specifications. This role involves a variety of tasks based on different needs, such as assisting the Factory Quality & Process Department in digitalizing tolerances and specifications, developing and testing design rules for new product ranges, creating specific products based on customer demands, and understanding factory needs to deliver valuable outputs without getting bogged down by bureaucratic procedures. In addition, we expect you to have University degree in Engineering; Very good understanding of basic engineering principles, bearings & rotating systems; Very good understanding of technical drawing rules and principles; Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, Windchill, CREO Parametric; Knowledge of ANSYS (including optiSLang), Python programming language, will be considered a plus; Proactivity in taking the lead with a global problem-solving attitude; Proactivity in seeking new ways of working without passively accepting existing solutions; Proficiency in English verbal and written, as well as Italian; Open to travel if needed; At SKF we are committed to creating a diverse environment, and we firmly believe that a diverse workforce is essential for our continued success.
