Excelra hiring for Senior Database Engineer Job Description : - Database engineer will be working as an SQL, PL/SQL developer, preferably PostgreSQL, Oracle, and MySQL with good knowledge on query analysis/performance. - Experience in managing DB loads and data migration with hands- on experience in ETL (Extract, Transform and Load) by writing efficient SQL queries. - Also, write efficient stored procedures, Triggers and Views. - Work with Angular/Java/.net/Python development teams and guide them on SQL development. - Take pro-active steps to improve performance of applications by optimizing SQL queries, procedures, triggers and so on. - Activities include but not limited to Extract, Transform and Load data from multiple data sources into multiple database systems. - Comprehend and translate business requirements into technical specifications and build elegant, efficient, and scalable solutions based on specifications. - Implementing & maintaining of databases on PostgreSQL, Oracle, and MySQL. - Generating the Constraints and Indexes to maintain data integrity. - Implement appropriate indexes (B-Tree, Geospatial, Text) for performance improvement. - Develop MongoDB and API prototypes and proofs of concept. - Maintain and optimize the existing procedures or develop new ones. - Prepare technical documentation and Flowcharting. - Recommends changes in development, maintenance, and system standards. - Automate routine tasks using open-source workflow tools. - Drafting of complex SQL queries using joins, sub queries, correlated sub queries and analytical functions to retrieve data from the database. - Expertise on integrating 3rd party databases in life science stream - Performing basic DBA activities like creating Users, creating and maintaining tablespaces, assigning privileges and roles to the users. - Create views or Materialized views for functionality development. - Provided crucial support to development teams in terms of database related activities. - Create and maintain test scenarios and test data for all projects. - Developing, managing, and testing Backup and recovery plans. - Ready to handle Development work as an Individual contributor. - Good knowledge on UNIX/LINUX. Requirements : - Graduate / Post Graduate - MTech or M Sc Bioinformatics - Min 8-10 years of experience as PostgreSQL, PL/SQL developer - Mandatory to have proficiency in PostgreSQL, Oracle - Specialized technical knowledge of the MongoDB platform or similar NoSQL technologies - Strong SQL, PL/SQL programming skills - Proficient in writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, views, triggers, indexes - Good experience in complex query tuning for PostgreSQL/Oracle - Experience in implementing PostgreSQL with AWS - Experience with index tuning and query optimization - Programming skills in Angular is an advantage - Ability to catch the inconsistencies while working with messy datasets. - Ability to work in an independent, efficient, and highly productive manner. - Strong attention to detail - Quick-learner, self-motivated and proactive - Flexible and adaptable - Demonstrated written, and verbal skills including strong presentation capability - Strong understanding on semantics in life sciences space is a plus (ref:hirist.tech)
