Cloud Architect

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES : 1. Design, implement and manage cloud Infrastructure including but not limited to identity and Security, Monitoring, Data Storage, Business Continuity 2. Define optimal design patterns and solutions for high availability and disaster recovery for applications 3. Develop solutions architecture and evaluate architectural alternatives for private, public and hybrid cloud models, including IaaS, PaaS, and other cloud services 4. Work with sales department for performing demonstration and conversing requirements 5. Drive scope definition, requirements analysis, functional and technical design, application build, product configuration, unit testing, and production deployment 6. Preparation and presentation of a test plan, lab reports, technical presentations and analyst briefings for covering different solution areas 7. Ensure delivered solutions meet/perform to technical and functional/non-functional requirements 8. Provide technical expertise and ownership in the diagnosis and resolution of an issue, including the determination and provision of workaround solution or escalation to service owners 9. Ensure delivered solutions are realized in time frame committed; work in conjunction with project sponsors to size and manage scope and risk 10. Provide support and technical governance, expertise related to cloud architectures, deployment, and operations 11. Demonstrate knowledge of cloud architecture and implementation features (OS, multi-tenancy, virtualization, orchestration, elastic scalability) 12. Demonstrate knowledge of DevOps tool chains and processes 13. Provide thought leadership in industry and to fellow team members across business and technical project 14. Demonstrate forward thinking around where the organization is going and how technology can support these efforts 15. Advocate and define cloud architecture vision from a strategic perspective, including internal and external platforms, tools, and systems 16. Act as the coach and mentor to team members and technical staff on their assigned project tasks 17. Develop a cohesive team and ensure their continued success 18. Lead the definition and development of cloud reference architecture and management systems 19. Conduct product work reviews with team members SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE : 1. 5 years of architecture, design, implementation, and/or support of highly distributed applications (i.e. having an architectural sense for ensuring availability, reliability, etc.). 2. 2 years of experience in "migrating" on premise workloads to the cloud. 3. 5 years of success in consultative/complex technical sales and deployment projects (where necessary, managing various stakeholder relationships to get consensus on solution/projects) 4. Oversight experience on major transformation projects and successful transitions to implementation support teams. 5. Solid understanding of modern authentication protocols and a background in cyber security 6. Deep understanding of cloud computing technologies, business drivers, and emerging computing trends. 8. Deep technical experience in enterprise mobile, identity and access control, & security solutions. 9. Understanding of cloud governance technologies for cost management and control. 10. Understanding of common database technologies such as SQL Database/Server, Oracle, MySQL 11. Working knowledge with AGILE development, SCRUM and Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) with one or more of the following programming languages: PowerShell, Bash, .NET, C++, Java, JSON, PHP, Perl, Python, Ruby on Rails, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Responsive Web Design. 12. Exposure to multiple, diverse technologies and processing environments 13. Knowledge of all components of cloud technical architecture 14. Knowledge of business process re-engineering principles and processes 15. Strong understanding of network architecture and application development methodologies 16. Strong understanding of SOA, object-oriented analysis and design, and/or client/server systems 17. Experience working in a research or academic environment preferred 18. Proven track record of building deep technical relationships with senior executives and growing cloud consumption share in large or highly strategic accounts. 19. Proven track record of driving decisions collaboratively, resolving conflicts & ensuring follow through. 20. Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort with both large and small audiences. 21. Prior work experience in a consulting/architecture position within a software & services company. 22. Problem-solving mentality leveraging internal and/or external resources. 23. Exceptional verbal and written AND CERTIFICATIONS : 1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline 2. MCSE Cloud Platform and Infrastructure / AWS Professional Solution Architect 3. MCSA Cloud Platform Solutions Associate / AWS Associate Solution Architect 4.
