Principal/Senior Analytics Specialist

Position : Principal/Senior Analytics Specialist Location : Remote Position Duration : 12 Months with possible extension Employment Type : C2C Client : Zendesk (They will be working in USA timings EST zone till 2:00 PM, as per India timings working hours will be 2:30 PM to 11:30 PM IST.) Location preference : PAN India Principal Analytic include : - Inventory of old systems and dashboards - Research around value associated with metrics - Verify weather assets are in ZDP or not as well as document and understand analytic dependencies - Requirements and discovery or any new or existing asset creation into ZDP. Key Responsibilities : 1. Inventory and Documentation of Old Systems and Dashboards : - Lead the comprehensive review and cataloging of existing analytic systems, dashboards, and reports. - Create a detailed documentation framework to map the structure, utilization, and dependencies of current dashboards and systems, ensuring all key data assets are identified. - Evaluate outdated systems for potential retirement, consolidation, or modernization opportunities. - Work closely with data engineering and business teams to capture the full scope of legacy assets and recommend improvements for efficiency and clarity. 2. Research and Analysis of Metric Value : - Conduct in-depth research to evaluate the value and relevance of existing business metrics. - Identify metrics that provide the most meaningful insights and align with the organization's goals, while flagging metrics that may no longer offer value. - Develop a framework for evaluating metrics, prioritizing those that drive decision-making, and reducing reliance on redundant or non-actionable metrics. - Work with business stakeholders to align on key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive adoption of high value metrics across teams. 3. Verification of Assets within the Zero Data Platform (ZDP) : - Lead the verification process to determine whether analytic assets are housed within ZDP, ensuring proper platform integration and adherence to governance standards. - Maintain and update detailed documentation of ZDP-based assets, highlighting any gaps or misalignments with business requirements. - Oversee the migration of any assets not currently within ZDP, ensuring compliance with data governance and platform standards. - Facilitate understanding and communication of analytic dependencies, ensuring key stakeholders are aware of how different assets interact within the platform. 4. Requirements Gathering and Discovery for New or Existing Assets in ZDP : - Collaborate with business stakeholders, data engineers, and analysts to gather requirements for new analytic assets or modifications to existing ones. - Lead discovery sessions to understand the business goals, objectives, and analytic needs that new or existing assets must fulfill. - Develop detailed project plans and timelines for the creation or integration of analytic assets into ZDP, ensuring alignment with business objectives and data governance standards. - Ensure smooth onboarding of new analytic assets into the ZDP environment, and oversee their testing, validation, and deployment processes. 5. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Management : - Act as the main point of contact between analytics, data engineering, and business teams to facilitate smooth communication and integration of new initiatives. - Provide leadership in understanding analytic dependencies, ensuring all stakeholders are aligned and informed on changes to data environments. - Foster relationships with key stakeholders to ensure that all requirements for analytic assets are captured and addressed. - Manage stakeholder expectations around the migration of legacy systems, identifying potential risks and mitigation strategies. 6. Continuous Improvement and Governance : - Drive continuous improvement efforts related to analytic systems and dashboard creation, identifying opportunities to optimize the analytics ecosystem. - Ensure adherence to data governance standards, including documentation, usage policies, and compliance with regulatory requirements. - Work with data governance teams to ensure that all analytic assets meet the company's compliance and data protection standards. - Regularly review the inventory of systems and metrics to identify areas for consolidation, performance improvement, or enhanced : - Bachelor's degree in data science, Computer Science, Analytics, or a related field (master's preferred). - 7 years of experience in senior analytics, data management, or data engineering role. - Proven track record of managing and optimizing analytic assets across legacy and modern systems. - Strong expertise in analytic platforms, data integration, and dashboard management. - Familiarity with Zero Data Platform (ZDP) or similar enterprise data management platforms. - Excellent ability to conduct research around business metrics and analyze their value within the organizational context. - Extensive experience with documenting data systems, analytic dependencies, and platform integrations. - Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to manage stakeholders across technical and non-technical teams. - Strong project management skills, with the ability to oversee complex analytic initiatives from discovery through to completion. Preferred Skills : - Hands-on experience with modern data platforms such as Snowflake, dbt, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP). - Knowledge of ETL tools (e.g., Fivetran, Matillion) and analytics development frameworks. - Proficiency in SQL, Python, or similar data manipulation languages. - Strong understanding of data governance and compliance requirements in the analytics space.
