What we do:
The Powertrain Integration team at Supernal is responsible for interface definition as well as physical and functional integration between the Powertrain System and the rest of the aircraft. The Mechanical Engineer on this team will contribute to the physical integration of Powertrain Subsystems to Aircraft throughout the development lifecycle, from concept trade studies to aircraft verification phase. This role interfaces with many teams within the engineering, manufacturing, and validation organization, where your communication and collaboration skills are as important as your engineering abilities.
What you can do:
Contribute to Powertrain physical integration strategy to meet structural and safety requirements while optimizing for mass, cost, efficiency, manufacturability, and serviceability
Apply excellent communication and negotiation skills between hardware engineering teams with competing interests to find novel ways to resolve tight packaging challenges
Apply attention to detail in GD&T analyses and installation drawings to convey assembly intent
Promote the use of CAD methods and best practices within the Powertrain department
Lead the definition and completion of any/all necessary hardware integration verification activities, including (but not limited to) CAE, physical mockups, and hardware testing
Partner with PMO organization to implement build plan
Up to 25% of domestic and international travel
Other duties as assigned
What you can contribute:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering required
Minimum three (3) years of experience in engineering (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered)
Experience in mechanical design and packaging of complex systems in aerospace and/or automotive applications
Experience in packaging and mass savings applications
Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals across a broad range of topics such as statics, materials, thermals/fluids
Strong capabilities in 3DX/Catia
Knowledge of standards DO160G, DO-311A,
Ability to navigate through ambiguous problems to propose multiple solutions for review
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proactive delivery of communication and follow up
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Must have the ability to independently prioritize and accomplish work within time constraints
Proficiency with Excel VLOOKUP, pivot tables, MS Office Suite
You may also be able to contribute:
Experience in aerospace design/release of complex mechanical subsystems in an Aerospace application preferred
Broad understanding of High Voltage systems and electrical engineering fundamentals preferred
Base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and location. This position is also eligible for a bonus as part of total compensation.
The pay range for this position is:
$106,506—$122,325 USD
