Job Description
Our client has an immediate requirement for an Electrical Supervisor to join their business around West Midlands on contract basis OUTSIDE IR35.
Role and Responsibilities for Electrical Supervisor:
• To manage electrical activities within the project construction area in accordance with the contract, company's policies and procedures, and the legislation of the United Kingdom
• To direct and organise site team and company's subcontractors.
• Management of own and subordinates time to agreed targets such that effort is efficiently spent.
• Review electrical installation design (loops, cable schedule, calc, cable route etc) in conjunction with the design electrical engineer.
• Set up and enforce electrical installation best practice.
• Provide technical guidance to site electrical contractor to ensure works are delivered in accordance with contracted specifications.
• Manage site design package and liaise with electrical design engineer for technical queries and design clarification.
• Maintain the electrical and subcontractors electrical design, mark up change and ensure implementation in the O&Ms.
• Inspect, snags and sign off the on skid electrical installation.
• To Prepare weekly/monthly site programme lookaheads based on the agreed contract programme in liaison with the project manager.
• Identify and report to the project manager any changes to the contracted scope for work, ensuring that no changes are implemented unless authorized in accordance with the company's management procedure.
• To manage, promote and maintain company's relationship with the client and subcontractors by means of meetings, correspondences and other various modes of communications in liaison with the project manager.
• Liaise with client operation personnel and other Contractors on site to avoid confusion about areas of responsibility for safety health and environmental issues as required by the policies;
• Maintain a good relationship with external stakeholders.
• Report project risks as they arise to the company's Project Manager/Engineer..
• Review and approve method statements and risk assessments for electrical installation activities on site.
• Ensure no work is carried out without an approved method statement, risk assessments and permits to work being in place.
• Maintain a tidy and safe site, as far as is reasonably practicable, by good housekeeping and management of staff and contractors;
• Ensure that all site documentation, reports and statutory registers are kept up to date and that records of induction training and certificates of training achievement are properly filed on the site;
• Maintain written site diary detailing activities conducted on the day, personnel involved, machinery, visitors and subcontractors.
• Ensure that the reporting procedures are carried out for all serious injuries and serving of improvement or Prohibition Notices by the Enforcing Authorities in accordance with the contract, client and the company's specifications and policies.
Experience Required for Electrical Supervisor:
• Planning and programming sub-contractors.
• Extensive working experience in site electrical installation for the water industry.
• Experience with installation and cabling of instrumentation, pumps, blowers, panels, trayworks, earthing, bonding and systems integration
• Familiar with major UK water company electrical standards.
Qualifications/Skills for Electrical Supervisor:
• Electrical Engineering Discipline Qualification
• Health and Safety Training (SSSTS/ SMSTS, First Aid)
• PASMA Training is a bonus
• Ability to read and interpret electrical design documents i.e, SD,CBD, Schedules, panel schematics, loop diagram, cable calculation.
• Conversant with BS7671 IEE Elec Reg 18th Edition and WIMES (phone number removed)
