Inspired have partnered with a brilliant society that publishes interdisciplinary content in the field of chemistry and chemistry-related sciences, as they are looking to hire a Publisher to help them grow their portfolio even further. This is a great opportunity for an ambitious portfolio manager who is looking to take a step up, take on more strategic responsibilities and develop a thriving portfolio of STEM journals.

Overview of the role:

Salary: £45,000 - £50,000

Location: London (hybrid, 3 days a week in the office)

Permanent role / full time

The Publisher will be responsible for:

• Leading the editorial growth strategy for assigned journals, working in line with agreed targets for increasing submission rates, impact factors, and revenue.
• Future-proofing the portfolio for sustainable growth and digital accessibility.
• Developing editorial boards.
• Managing the transition of the journals to Open Access.
• Working closely with the other Publisher and the rest of the editorial team, contributing to wider team projects and growth strategies.

Candidate profile:

The successful candidate will have a detailed understanding of all aspects of the journal development and publishing process, from new title launch to boosting financial performance, and will have significant editorial experience. Familiarity with the Open Access landscape and experience transitioning journals to OA is a big advantage, as well as a teamplayer attitude and good stakeholder management skills.
