Job Description
Were seeking a skilled Metrology Engineer with a strong understanding of in-process verification and manufacturing processesto join our Materials Assurance team. This role is central to providing expertisein the evaluation of material properties, quality, and consistency.
Our team combines experts in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), Metrology, and Materials Testing, all working collaboratively to deliver high precision results.
You'll be involved in rigorous testing following international and British standards, conducting inspections, and analysing materials. Your work will contribute to the reliability of our processes, identifying design deviations and understanding key material properties to support our wider goals and customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proficient in the use of a variety of metrology equipment for accurate data capture.
- Utilise metrology software for data analysis and reporting.
- Innovate and apply state-of-the-art metrology techniques.
- Optimise methods and automate metrology processes.
- Contribute to a diverse range of projects, particularly in composite manufacturing processes.
Essential Skills:
- Competent in the use of various metrology equipment scanners, trackers, photogrammetry etc.
- Experienced in using Polyworks and SpatialAnalyzer software.
- knowledgeable in state-of-the-art metrology techniques (Up-to-date with the latest advancements in metrology).
- Innovative Background: Proven experience in driving innovation within the field.
Additional experience in the following areas is advantageous but not crucial
- Programming CMMs.
- Knowledge of CAD software, automation, and coding languages.
- Experience in mechanical testing, microscopy, NDT, and thermal analysis.
- Background working with composite materials and composite manufacturing processes.
