Senior Quantity Surveyor - South West base - Remote

My client is one of the leading high voltage specialist electrical engineering companies in the UK. They have proven experience and deliver successful projects across a wide range of industries, including renewable energy, commercial and industrial, electric vehicle, generation, nuclear and grid stability.
Role Overview
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take a lead role in supporting the Commercial Manager to drive the financial performance of key projects, while actively managing risk and ensuring accuracy in the commercial and engineering processes. You will play a pivotal part in the successful delivery of contracts, ensuring optimal profitability and cashflow.
Key Responsibilities:
* Take ownership of contract management, including scoping work packages, issuing tender enquiries, and managing tender analysis and documentation.
* Lead the selection, procurement, and management of supply chain contract packages, ensuring value for money and effective delivery.
* Oversee financial aspects of projects by utilising the company's financial systems to support budgeting, cost control, revenue allocation, and financial reporting.
* Provide strategic input into the commercial management of projects to maximise profitability and maintain a healthy cashflow position.
* Implement robust change management strategies to mitigate risks, prevent disputes, and ensure all records and audit trails are accurately maintained.
* Collaborate with Project Managers and Engineers to produce timely and accurate project progress reports and financial forecasts.
* Offer expert advice on legal and contractual matters to ensure projects are compliant and risks are minimized.
* Continuously seek opportunities to enhance business performance, streamline processes, and improve service delivery.
Qualifications:
* At least five years of experience in construction and surveying at a senior level, with a relevant degree in commercial management, quantity surveying, or a related discipline.
* Strong communicator with proven experience in managing client, contractor, and third-party relationships.
* Full UK driving licence and the right to work in the UK without limitation.
Skills and Experience:
* Proficient in Microsoft applications with strong IT literacy.
* Attention to detail with excellent oral and written communication skills, especially when dealing with complex figures and financial data.
* Practical and methodical problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically.
* Confident team player with a proactive and enthusiastic attitude.
