JOB DESCRIPTION
Overview: We are seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to provide legal support for our businesses across Singapore, Malaysia, and Hong Kong. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in banking law and wealth management, with the ability to advise on various investment product offerings and banking transactions, manage complex bank projects and navigate the ever-evolving legal and regulatory landscapes.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Responsibilities:
•Provide legal advice on all aspects of the Wealth Management business, including financial products, credit transactions and investment activities.
•Draft and review bank documentation related to account management, credit products and investment offerings.
•Ensure adherence to applicable laws and regulations across different jurisdictions, safeguarding the bank's reputation and managing legal risks.
•Collaborate with stakeholders and different units on bank projects.
•Advise on regulatory issues as well as account-related matters, banking secrecy, data privacy, and cross-border business operations.
•Support the implementation of new initiatives and products, ensuring legal compliance and alignment with business objectives.
•Work closely with internal clients to meet their needs while overseeing legal considerations.
•Manage tight timelines for ongoing projects while supporting day-to-day business-as-usual matters efficiently.
•Oversee litigious matters and client disputes.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications:
•Law degree from an accredited institution.
•At least 6-10 years of proven record in banking and regulatory compliance, preferably within a law firm or bank, with a focus on wealth management. Some experience in litigation is preferred.
•Strong understanding of banking laws, regulations and best practices in Singapore, Malaysia, and Hong Kong.
•Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to recommend effective workaround solutions.
•Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with various stakeholders.
•Ability to work independently.
•Based in Singapore.
