Candidate required: Design or Technical Manager – Residential

The role & about the client:
On behalf of our client, ITS Construction Professionals South are searching for an experienced Design or Technical Manager to join an award-winning house builder in Weymouth.
Key Responsibilities –
A excellent detailed knowledge on current building Regulations
A good knowledge and ability on CAD
Manage the drawing office team to convert of architects approved plans and prepare building regulation applications.
Check all building regulation drawings meet quality and building technical standards.
Identify and fix inaccuracies or mistakes.
Communicate with structural engineers for all units that have new adaptions and have not been previously designed by a structural engineer.
Communicate with our Architects, local Council, external consultants and sites teams as required.
Read and interpret structural drawings and assist the sites in understanding. Be able to accurately show these on plan.
Work with approved infrastructure consultants to assist and transfer across their design of roads and sewers and retaining walls.
Appoint and work with a competent structural engineer to produce detailed designs for elements of our plot house types and retaining structures securing appropriate warranties from the designers.
Meticulously check all internally produced designs and manage the drawing resisters to ensure everything is kept up to date.
Collaborate with the site management teams to ensure information in provided in a timely manner according to build program.
The ideal candidate
The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a similar role within Housebuilding and ideally (not essential) have a SAP assessment qualification or have the ability to coordinate with a qualified SAP assessor and transfer the designed assessments into the plot designs to meet regulations.
Training/Progression opportunities:
N/A Where a range of rate of pay is quoted the level of experience, qualifications & related training required is the minimum required in order to qualify for the lowest rate of pay quoted.
