Senior Or Principal EC&I Engineer

Job Description
Our client, a leader in the nuclear industry, is currently seeking a highly skilled Senior or Principal EC&I Engineer to join their team on a part time contract basis. This role involves leading a team of CE&I engineers and designers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality design packages for current and future stages of nuclear projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Producing, checking, and providing technical oversight of CE&I deliverables including documents, reports, calculations, schedules, and drawings
Delivering projects to relevant standards, codes, and regulations
Collaborating with other disciplines, stakeholders, and the wider project team
Managing engineers, designers, and supply chain contracts
Developing CE&I schedules and estimates
Planning, monitoring, and managing resource requirements
Supporting and leading technical and project meetings
Job Requirements:
Experience in safety engineering, controls and instrumentation, and electronics
Understanding of document control processes
Demonstrable experience with electrical infrastructure, UPS systems, and machinery safety systems (BS EN 13849)
Experience and understanding of CE/UKCA marking
Conversant with regulator requirements, standards, and procedures at a project level
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Experience delivering projects from scoping to operational handover and close out
Desire to support less experienced engineers, graduates, and apprentices
Understanding of project fundamentals and metrics for evaluating design progress
SC clearance preferred
Qualifications:
Essential: ONC
Desirable: BEng Degree, IEng/CEng
Additional Experience:
Nuclear industry experience
Lightning protection/earthing
Process instrumentation design
Design of radiometric instrumentation
