Research and Development Laboratory Assistant
Alton, Hampshire
£28k - £29k
Full time, permanent position
We have an exciting opportunity to work for a highly regarded and well-respected company within its field in the Hampshire countryside. They possess a modern and well-equipped laboratory to provide innovative products to the market. Their client base boasts an impressive line-up with industry leaders turning to them for their expertise.
We are looking for a Research and Development Laboratory Assistant to assist the Research and Development Manager and Consultants in the development of new product specialities.
Main responsibilities
* Compounding speciality products
* Production of samples for customers
* Analysis of samples using a range of testing equipment
* Recording data relating to test results
* Maintenance of databases relating to product development
* Producing technical documents
* Calibration of laboratory equipment
* General housekeeping within the laboratory
In addition to the main duties and responsibilities, every employee has an overall responsibility for:
* Taking reasonable care for your own Health and Safety and the Health and Safety of your fellow colleagues. This includes keeping the working area / stores free of hazards as per the company’s Health and Safety policy, reporting any potential hazards accordingly.
* Ensuring compliance with all relevant Quality standards and procedures. This includes reporting any deviations from these standards and procedures, completing corrective actions and making recommendations to prevent similar deviations in the future.
Skills and Experience required
* Experience in Lab procedures
* Chemistry experience (ideally)
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
* Must possess clear and professional communication skills (written and spoken) both internally and externally
* Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
* Ability to work to tight deadlines
* Ability to multitask
* Excellent time-management skills
