SEN Teaching Assistant (Daily Supply - Flexible Working)

About the Role:
We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistants for day-to-day supply opportunities across Bristol. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide support and assistance to students with special educational needs, promoting their learning and development in a positive manner.
- Work closely with class teachers and SEN coordinators to implement individualized learning plans and strategies.
- Assist in the preparation and adaptation of learning materials to suit the specific needs of individual students.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and independence.
- Manage and support challenging behaviors in line with the school’s behavior management policy.
- Collaborate with staff, parents, and professionals from external agencies to ensure the holistic development of students.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and SEN coordinators.
- Support students with personal care and mobility, if required.
- Ensure the safeguarding and welfare of students at all times.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children with special educational needs is desirable.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to support students with diverse learning needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt to various educational settings and work effectively as part of a team.
- Relevant qualifications such as a Teaching Assistant qualification or a degree in Education/SEN (desirable but not essential).
- DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance or willingness to obtain one.
