Location: -
This is a hybrid role, with a mix between working approximately 2 days a week (or more if you prefer) in our beautiful central London office (Goodge Street) and working from home.

Your place at the Lily’s Kitchen Table: -
As our Shopper Marketing Manager, you will be part of the MDO team (Market development & Organisation), reporting into the Head of Shopper Marketing & Category Management. You will be responsible for creating, executing, and evaluating audacious and engaging customer marketing ideas that succeed in driving business performance and customer engagement in the Lily’s Kitchen brand. Your work will cover the UK but you will collaborate closely with as well as provide support and guidance to our International Senior Brand Manager sharing plans and assets for our international markets.
Your number one priority will be managing the customer marketing JBP’s for your customers from start to finish, including strategic planning, ideation and sell-in, through to making your ideas come to life and evaluating the impact. Your retail customers will be both big and small from grocery to pet specialty and independent pet shops and could include physical POS as well as digital assets, so you will need to be comfortable adapting your ideas to live in different environments.
As a key member of the MDO team, you’ll be pivotal in helping meet revenue targets and bringing new customers into our brand, using your expertise to drive shopper conversion at the point of purchase.
How will I make a difference?
You will: -
- Work closely with the brand marketing team taking campaigns and bringing them to life through the path to purchase
- Working closely with the Marketing Manager and Head of Design you will be responsible for the look and feel of Lily’s Kitchen at the point of purchase, maximising our impact and performance in-store and online
- Support the sales team in developing strategic annual activation plans per customer that help deliver revenue targets set out in the Joint Business Planning process. We are not only looking for the basics here, we want audacious activations that challenge the norm in pet food and lead the way in store and online.
- Support the International senior brand manager in the development of activities for selected priority markets and in the development and execution of common toolkits that maximise efficient communication and conversion
- Understand the impact of the retail environment on the shopper's behaviour (shelf layout, assortment, promotion, etc.) & making recommendations on how Lily’s can use this
- Create and communicate shopper marketing strategy and plans for Lily’s trademark and products
- Work closely with Sales team to understand what commercial opportunities exist within retailers
- Identify and present bespoke retailer opportunities to help drive shopper conversion, grow our brand sales and in turn improve their category performance.
- Collaborate with our brand team to bring overarching campaigns to life in a relevant and memorable way for shoppers across different retail environments e.g. Grocery, Specialist, Online, Independent Pet Shops and Vet Clinics.
- Lead the activation process from creating briefs for designers in our in-house design team to delivering all projects in store on time and on budget.
- Present your activation ideas confidently to influence internal and external stakeholders
- Support our sustainability and B Corp values by ensuring we tread lightly on the planet when looking at audacious activations - we care about the earth
- Set KPIs for campaigns and evaluate the effectiveness against these targets.
- Effectively prioritise activities to ensure investment is used in the best way to delight our customers and grow revenue.
- Manage the shopper marketing budget to come in on plan
- Work with the brand team to bring our brand plans and shopper marketing activity to life at trade shows
- Work with our Digital Project Manager to provide insight, strategy and content for key ecommerce channels such as Amazon and Ocado.
- Manage and develop best in class relationships with retailers to deliver joint plans that land our objectives successfully all year round.
- Be an ambassador for our social and environmental credentials – seeking opportunities to drive our ‘proper goodness’ content to consumers about our hard work in this area and working with like-minded partners/suppliers
- Ensure any marketing is aligned with our Ethical Marketing policy
How will I be successful?
- Proven record of driving sales using activation ideas across different retail environments.
- Experience working within FMCG with Customer Marketing experience.
- Adept at using data to analyse the impact of your activation plans.
- Be comfortable turning insights into marketing opportunities at the point of purchase.
- Previous experience managing agencies and projects to land on time and within budget.
- A creative, audacious problem solver, who can inspire stakeholders to want to implement your activation plans.
- Build honest and genuine relationships quickly with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to think strategically, taking complex issues and addressing them step by step, taking a lateral approach where needed to overcome gaps in the data
- A curious mind, eager to find out more about the customer and the business that will help to unlock improved performance
- A completer-finisher who will not only develop the strategy and the solution but will also see it through to flawless execution and then measurement and evaluation
- As far as business-jargon goes, our best practice learnings signal a need for a PFP (passion for pets).
