Job Description

An opportunity has arisen for a fast learning and innovative Development Engineer to join a cutting edge Renewables Business.


You will work on some of the most innovative decarbonisation projects that have been proposed, whilst contributing towards the country’s Net Zero emission goals. We offer regular contact time with senior management, as well as significant autonomy and authority to lead workstreams and own relationships with clients as well as suppliers.


The Opportunity


We are looking for an ambitious junior engineer that is looking to stretch their knowledge and skills and accelerate their career path. We provide opportunities for professional development and specialisation in areas like electrolysis, solar photovoltaic, wind energy, and/or energy storage.


The key responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

  • Assist in the design and development of green hydrogen energy systems.
  • Conduct performance analyses and feasibility studies for green hydrogen projects.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers in planning and executing project tasks.
  • Support the preparation of technical documentation and reports.
  • Participate in research and development activities.
  • Help in ensuring projects comply with legal, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Liaise with vendors, clients, contractors, and other stakeholders as required.


Skills and Knowledge:

  • 2-4 years experience
  • Basic knowledge of renewable energy technologies and industry trends.
  • Familiarity with energy modelling software and tools.
  • AutoCAD
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, with additional coding knowledge/VBA and Microsoft Project a bonus but not required.
  • Basic understanding of project management principles.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety for projects:
  1. Risk management and safety compliance
  2. Experience of Hazard Identification (HAZID) & Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) studies is a plus
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Eagerness to learn and stay updated with advancements in renewable technologies.
  • Ability to work in a team and contribute to collaborative environments.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and sustainability.


Educational Requirements


  • .Bachelor’s (or higher) degree in Engineering. Relevant fields include Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, Renewable Energy, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Understanding of renewable energy systems (hydrogen, solar, wind, hydro, etc.).
