Interim/ Fixed Term Are you a skilled finance professional looking for your next challenge? Our client is seeking an Interim Finance Manager/Management Accountant to join their dynamic team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the financial health and compliance of a key division of the organisation. Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Planning & Reporting:
Prepare 5-year financial plans, quarterly forecasts, monthly reports, and annual/ad-hoc returns, ensuring adherence to university deadlines. - Income & Expenditure Monitoring:
Oversee income and expenditure against plans/forecasts for all account types, investigate variances, and communicate findings to senior managers and the Finance Business Partner. - Compliance & Audit:
Ensure compliance with university financial regulations, policies, and procedures. Maintain financial authorisations and policies to ensure audit compliance. - Financial Advisory:
Act as the professional point of contact in RIS for financial advice and support, including ad-hoc reports and costings. - Management Information:
Communicate timely and accurate management information to budget holders and develop reporting to enhance management information for budget holders and management teams. - Account Management:
Ensure various account types are correctly set up, managed, and transacted, liaising with financial accounting for assurance where necessary. - Funding Management:
Work with business leads to understand requirements associated with various funding types, ensuring correct management and compliance with external reporting criteria. - Support Initiatives:
Assist the senior team in initiatives such as business case development.
- Qualifications:
CCAB recognised professional accountant qualification (part or full) – ICAEW, ICAS, ACCA, CIMA, or CIPFA. - Experience:
Recent relevant experience in a large, cross-functional environment, using complex accounting and financial reporting systems. - Skills:
- Flexibility and a can-do attitude, with the ability to adapt to a changing environment.
- Proven ability to plan and prioritise work to deliver accurate and timely results.
- Ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously, reporting on progress effectively.
- Initiative and proactivity in designing and implementing efficient processes.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address potential issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with various stakeholders and presenting financial information to non-specialists.
