Job Title: Electrical Design Engineer (BESS)
Location: Leicestershire, UK
Salary: Starting at £45k+

About the Role:
We are seeking a talented Electrical Design Engineer with expertise in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) . In this role, you will be responsible for designing and engineering BESS units ranging from 45kW - 150kWh, ensuring compliance with all technical specifications and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and engineer BESS units, ensuring regulatory compliance.
Develop electrical diagrams, wiring schematics, and system layouts for new energy storage projects.
Conduct simulations and analysis to optimize performance and efficiency.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, integrating BESS with systems such as Solar Energy Frames and Stage V Generators.
Oversee prototype development, including component selection, assembly, and testing.
Prepare technical documentation, including product specifications and test reports.
Provide technical support during installation, commissioning, and maintenance phases.
Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in battery storage solutions.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in designing BESS or similar electrical storage systems.
Proficiency in electrical design software (AutoCAD, ETAP, or similar).
Strong knowledge of battery technologies, inverter systems, and electrical control systems.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
Willingness to travel for site visits and supplier evaluations.Work Hours:
Monday to Thursday: 8am - 5pm
Friday: 8am - 2:30pm
Flexibility to work outside regular hours may be required.
