Job Description

Our client is a UK-wide housebuilder working on a number of high-profile housing projects in central Scotland. They are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Quantity Surveyor to join the existing team in Glasgow. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in private housing and possess the necessary skills to manage multiple projects efficiently. This is a permanent position offering a competitive salary and career growth opportunities.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare and manage cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports for private housing projects.
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analysis to determine the viability of projects.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met.
- Prepare tender documents, contracts, budgets, bills of quantities, and other documentation.
- Monitor and control project costs, ensuring that projects are completed within budget and on time.
- Conduct regular site visits to assess progress and resolve any issues that may arise.
- Negotiate contracts and prices with suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors.
- Provide advice on contractual claims and disputes.
- Ensure compliance with building regulations, health and safety standards, and other legal requirements.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all financial transactions and project documentation.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in quantity surveying, with a focus on private housing.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
- Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in the use of industry-standard software (e.g.,COINS, MS Office Suite).
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Valid UK driving license and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
