Electrical Lecturer/ Skills Coach – no teaching experience required!!
Are you looking to come off the tools and move into a less physically strenuous role? Are you a qualified electrician who is passionate about seeing quality apprentices coming through into the sector? If so we have an amazing opportunity to work as an Electrical Lecturer & Skills Coach – and the best thing is the government are currently offering a £6000 incentive for the next two years for electricians to move into teaching!
About the Role:
You will be working in state-of-the-art facilities, with leading local construction firms to help train up the next generation of Electricians through their apprenticeships in Northamptonshire.
Delivering practical and theory lessons to diploma level 1-3 electrical apprentices
Developing learning resources, managing classroom behaviour etc.
What is in it for you?
Pay: £40,000 - £45,000/annum (depending on experience) + £6000 from the government for the first 2 years for joining education for the first time (making it a total of £12,000 on top of your salary!!!)
Contract: Full-time and Part-time
Holiday: Excellent holiday allowance – 40 days off per annum
Pension: Enrolment to teachers pensions with a HUGE employer pension contribution of 28.68% of your annual salary
The college will pay for and support you with undertaking a teaching qualification
Who are we looking for?
Hold a Level 2 OR 3 Electrical Installations (or equivalent)
Have an 18th Edition
Have a vehicle and driving license - to travel on sites
Preferably have a teaching qualification (e.g., PTTLS) or willing to work towards it within the first year of employment
English and Maths GCSE (level 4/C or above)
