One of our fantastic schools in Sidcup are looking for a primary teacher to teach across a KS2 class that supports pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Profound Multi Learning Difficulties (PMLD)

Are you a compassionate and dedicated Primary Teacher looking to make a real difference in the lives of children? We are seeking a Special Educational Needs, Primary Teacher for a vibrant school in Sidcup that specialisies in supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and profound Multi learning difficulties (PMLD) for students from 4-19 years old.
In this rewarding Primary Teacher role, you will be responsible for creating a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment tailored to the unique needs of each student. Your expertise as an Primary Teacher will help develop individualised learning plans that promote engagement, independence, and social skills.
The School
The successful Primary Teacher applicant would be joining an outstanding SEN school in Sidcup for children with severe learning difficulties. This SEN school offers provision for pupils from 4-19 years, who have severe and profound learning difficulties. The school provides a range of unique enabling environments, both indoor and outdoor, which are used to maximise learning opportunities and meet pupil's specific needs and allows the students to gain independence and life skills.
Primary Teacher Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement personalised educational programs
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including nurses, therapists and educational psychologists.
- Foster a positive and supportive classroom atmosphere.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adapting approaches as the primary teacher in the classroom
- Engage with parents and caregivers to support student development at home and in school.
- Work with and lead a support team within the classroom
Primary Teacher Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of ASD/PMLD and SLD students
- Experience working in a primary education or PMLD setting is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
