Job Title: Maintenance Plumber / Multi-Trade Operative (Social Housing Contracts)
Location: Richmond & Surrounding Areas
Contract: Temporary to Permanent
Hourly Rate: £20 - £25 per hour (Umbrella)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Van and Fuel Card Provided
We are currently looking for an experienced Maintenance Plumber with basic carpentry skills to join our team working on social housing contracts across Richmond and the surrounding areas. This is a temporary-to-permanent role offering a competitive hourly rate, with the opportunity to transition into a permanent position after a successful probation period.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out plumbing maintenance, repairs, and installations in social housing properties (residential maintenance).
Perform basic carpentry tasks including minor joinery, door frame installations, and other woodwork duties as required.
Ensure high standards of workmanship and quality when working in tenants' homes, maintaining professionalism and respect for their living spaces.
Respond to service calls efficiently, diagnosing and repairing plumbing issues, ensuring minimal disruption for tenants.
Complete work in compliance with all relevant safety and housing regulations.
Manage time effectively to meet deadlines and adhere to project schedules.
Communicate effectively with tenants, supervisors, and colleagues to ensure a smooth and efficient service.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Plumber, with a solid background in maintenance and installation.
Basic carpentry skills (e.g., fitting skirting boards, door frames, and general joinery work).
Relevant plumbing qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ) and a valid CSCS card.
Full UK driving license (company van provided).
Experience working in social housing contracts or similar environments is highly desirable.
Strong communication skills and a professional approach when dealing with tenants and clients.
