Job Title: Software Project Lead
Salary: Circa £55k-75K, depending on experience
Location: Stevenage (Relocation package may be available)
Security Clearance Requirement: British Citizen or Dual UK national with British citizenship.
About the Opportunity:
As a Software Project Lead, you’ll play a critical role in developing and supporting advanced test software for key missile systems. The Test Equipment (TE) Software Resource and Capability UK team collaborates across engineering and test centres to deliver sophisticated software solutions that ensure our product range meets high standards through development, production, and field testing. Working as a Software Project Lead on this team, you’ll gain valuable exposure to our entire product line and work alongside specialists in software, hardware, simulation, and real-time systems.
Key Responsibilities as a Software Project Lead:
* Leadership in Software Design: As a Software Project Lead, you’ll lead a team focused on high-performance test software solutions and act as design authority on the software your team creates.
* Cross-Discipline Collaboration: Build strong relationships within multi-disciplined project environments to ensure seamless integration and functionality of test software.
* Project Management: Handle cost estimation, scheduling, and planning for multiple projects, ensuring timely and effective delivery.
* Strategic Influence: Engage and collaborate at a senior level across departments to align project objectives with business goals.
Ideal Experience for a Software Project Lead:
* Technical Expertise: Background in software development, ideally with low-level programming experience in C.
* Project Leadership: Proven skills in leading software projects, with experience in cost estimation, planning, and managing multiple priorities.
* Relationship Building: Ability to foster positive working relationships across software, hardware, and testing teams to support integrated project delivery.
