Job Description
Client: My client are a highly regarded and well respected fixture within the Prime London residential refurbishment sector. Since their establishment their philosophy has been to complete every single project to the best possible that ‘matches and surpasses’ their clients’ expectations. At the start of every project they adopt a consultative, communicative and collaborative approach with everyone they work with in order to address the frequent challenges that often arise, especially when dealing with technical projects within the high end refurbishment sector.
They undertake intricate and complex residential projects which often encompass a wide range of construction methodologies including elements of extension and new build, subterranean extensions and excavations, challenging structural alterations, refurbishments, façade retentions and rebuilds; with all of their projects being completed to an uncompromisingly high standard. Unlike a number of contractors, this business don’t simply rely on tendering as their main method of securing work. In the fact, the vast majority of their project portfolio is secured through recommendations and referrals via the end user private client and their respective professional teams with their project portfolio occasionally supplemented with tendered work.

Role: Senior Quantity Surveyor (London Based) – Between £85,000 - £95,000 + Package
Role/Responsibilities:
* Control all expenditure.
* Reconcile cost/value reports and profit forecasts
* To assist the Operations Manager with pre-start planning and programming
* Selection of Sub-contractors for works in accordance with company Sub-contract procurement requirements.
* Sub-contract procurement and commercial management
* Management and control of sub-contract accounts and variation accounts
* Change management control
* Assisting and liaising with the buyers on materials procurement and buying opportunities
* To manage the day to day cost control, monitoring and reporting
* Develop an understanding of the designated contract, specification and pricing ensuring compliance with conditions throughout
* Assist the Operations Manager with subcontractor selection and ensure the chosen subcontractor has the appropriate skill set and capability to deliver the works. Place the appropriate order and all required information to carry out their work
* Liaise with the Commercial Manager / Operations Manager over contractual issues and act as required
* Measure progress, submit valuations, submit final accounts and retention release and monitor receipt of payment in a timely manner in accordance with the contracts
* Process subcontractor requests for payment
* Completing a monthly cost / valuation report and cash flow for the designated projects
* Where appropriate, assist with estimates and negotiations for future projects or phases
* Attend project and company related meetings
* Ensure the company is neither compromised nor disadvantaged by a contractual or financial arrangement
* Sufficiently manage the financial aspects of the project to ensure the correct safety equipment is always used
