SEN Teacher - MLD Specialist (KS3/4/5)
Location: London
Salary: M1 - UPS2 + TLR
Contract Type: Full-time/Permanent

We are seeking a dedicated and patient SEN Teacher to join our vibrant team at [School Name], specialising in supporting Key Stage 3, 4, and 5 students with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD). This role will involve delivering a broad curriculum including English, PSHE, and life skills, focusing on P Levels and helping students develop both academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons across a range of subjects, including English, PSHE, and life skills, tailored to meet the individual needs of students working at P Levels.
Foster independence, confidence, and self-esteem in students through teaching essential life skills, preparing them for adulthood.
Collaborate with teaching assistants and support staff to ensure that each student's unique learning and emotional needs are met.
Create a nurturing and positive learning environment that encourages student engagement, creativity, and progress.
Assess and track student progress in line with P Level frameworks and ensure each student is progressing at their own pace.
Build strong, supportive relationships with students and their families, ensuring that communication is clear and consistent.
What We're Looking For:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised SEN teaching qualification.
Experience working with students with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), ideally in a special school or SEN unit.
Understanding of P Levels and how to apply them in planning, teaching, and assessment.
A flexible, empathetic, and creative approach to teaching, adapting lessons to suit a wide range of abilities and learning styles.
