They are seeking a Data Science Manager interested in building, scaling and operating geospatial software platforms to support state-of-the-art products, these products need to scale to millions of daily transactions with 99.99% uptime while allowing continuous and rapid deployments across new business lines. Roles and Responsibilities : The Data Science manager's role is to lead a ML/DS team for designing and implementing solutions to solve customer problems in utilities and infrastructure domains which involves interfacing with business & product to shape up a MVP, supervising data collection, leading the team in building a concept application to demonstrate the advantages of the new methodology. Upon successful demonstration he/she brings in original ideas, collaborates and works with the team and 3rd parties for speed of delivery to solve and deploy the solution on a larger scale. The candidate will also leverage the in-house ML/DS CoE to de-risk some of the risky endeavors along with collaborating with other business unit's teams to successfully deliver the products. Data Science Product Development : Designing and Implementing production ready solutions to solve asset identification, change monitoring problems in aviation, utilities and climate change domains with the help of a dedicated execution team. Identifying and prioritizing the objectives of the team based on business needs. Delivering OKRs by defining goals, roadmaps and facilitating daily scrum, sprint planning and retrospective meetings etc to achieve those goals. Coordinate with business and product teams to understand & translate user requirements and provide technical solutions. Regularly communicate with stakeholders, project managers and other developers regarding progress on the long-term technology roadmap. Data Science Product Delivery : Building, scaling and automating end to end DS solutions to support products at scale. Produce quality code, raising the bar for the whole team on quality and speed Optimize applications for minimum latency and high scalability Hiring & Building team : Responsible for building effective teams with right competencies. Defining career paths for team members and helping them grow with regular coaching and mentoring. Experience : 5-8 years of working experience in ML/Data science preferably from remote sensing background. Experience in leading a team of both data scientist and machine learning engineers to solve challenging problems preferably in the Infrastructure and Utilities domain using geospatial & remote sensing data. Statistical knowledge along with great proficiency in python Strong understanding and implementation experience of predictive modeling algorithms such as regressions, time series, neural networks, clustering, decision trees and heuristic models, with familiarity dealing with tradeoffs between model performance and business needs Experience combining user research and data science methodologies across multiple products within the business unit. Must have delivered multiple data science product(s) in production. Minimum qualification : Advanced degree (MSc/PhD) in Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, Operations Research, Physics or Mathematics/Statistics preferred. Competencies : Fantastic communication skills that enable you to work cross-functionally with business folks, product managers, technical experts, building solid relationships with a diverse set of stakeholders. The ability to convey complex solutions to a less technical person. Vast analytical problem-solving capabilities & experience. Bias for action. Benefits : Why Us?
