Position Summary: The Director of Sales - West manages sales activities of the organization by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Directs sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly.
Reviews market analyses to determine customer needs, price schedules, and discount rates.
Directs staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control sales programs.
Directs channel development activity and coordinates sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas,
and goals.
Advises distributors and clients concerning sales and advertising techniques.
Assigns sales territory to sales representatives.
Analyzes sales statistics to formulate policy and assist dealers in promoting sales.
Directs product simplification and standardization to eliminate unprofitable items from the sales line.
Represents the company at trade association meetings to promote products.
Delivers sales presentations to key clients in coordination with sales representatives.
Meets with key clients, assisting sales representatives with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals.
Coordinates/liaison between the sales department and other sales-related units.
Analyzes and controls expenditures of the division to conform to budgetary requirements.
Assists other departments within the organization to prepare manuals and technical publications.
Prepare periodic sales reports showing sales volume, potential sales, and proposed client base expansion areas.
Directs product research and development.
Monitors and evaluates the activities and products of the competition.
Recommends or approves budget, expenditures, and appropriations for research and development work.
Requirements:Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises employees in the sales department. Carries supervisory responsibilities per the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience
Master's degree (M. A.) or equivalent; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent
combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or
governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to
effectively present
information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and
decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with various concrete variables in situations where only limited
standardization exists. Ability to interpret multiple instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule
form.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should know Development software, Payroll/Human.
Resource systems; Internet software and Spreadsheet software.
Other Skills and Abilities
- Proven experience as a Sales Leader or Director.
- Proven track record of increasing sales and revenue; field sales experience.
- Proficient in MS Office.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Organizational and leadership ability.
- Utilize both CoopDigity Software and Pipeline (CRM).
Other Qualifications
- Must reside in the Western States of USA.
- Must be able to travel by air and car.
- Valid driver's license and automobile insurance.
- Ability to be covered by the Company's Auto Insurance Policy.
