Description: Job Title: Associate Attorneys (4 Openings)
Location: Hybrid (Chicago or St. Louis office preferred; options for Madison, Milwaukee, Indianapolis, and nearby areas)
Salary:

Just graduated: $90k
3+ years of experience: $125k-130k

Overview:
Our client, a mid-sized Chicago-based Insurance Defense firm, has immediate openings for four Associate Attorneys. They handle a range of local and national accounts and specialize in civil litigation and insurance defense, including toxic tort, complex product liability, and general/professional liability cases. If you are a motivated attorney with 1-4 years of experience and a passion for litigation, we encourage you to apply.

Key Requirements:

Admission to practice in Illinois is required.
For the St. Louis office, admission to practice in Missouri is required.
Preference will be given to candidates licensed in additional jurisdictions, such as Missouri, Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana, Washington, Oregon, or Texas.
1-4 years of litigation experience, ideally in civil litigation or insurance defense.
Proficiency in case management, discovery, trial preparation, client correspondence, and attending hearings.

Location & Hybrid Flexibility:

Ideal candidates will be based in Chicago and available to work in the office on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Senior/experienced candidates living in areas such as Madison, Milwaukee, Indianapolis, or nearby locations may attend the office a few times per month.
Occasional in-office work may be required for candidates based in Chicago, St. Louis, or nearby cities.

Billable Hour Expectation:

1950 annually (approximately 162.5 hours per month).

Compensation & Benefits:

Competitive salary based on experience level ($90k for new graduates, $125k-$130k for attorneys with 3+ years of experience).

Position Responsibilities:

Independently manage a litigation caseload.
Draft and review discovery requests.
Conduct depositions and argue motions.
Support trial preparation, including witness preparation.
Investigate facts and attend court hearings/trials.
Maintain accurate time records.

Interview Process:

Initial phone conversation with a partner.
Panel interview with a team of 4 client team leads.
