Job Description
Currently on the lookout for a Assistant Quantity surveyor to join a reputable tier 1 contractor for a heavy civils and infrastructure. The project has a strong focus on drainage, earthworks, and ground works within a large-scale infrastructure setting. This role offers the unique advantage of being outside IR35 and provides the flexibility of a hybrid working model.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation of cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents for heavy civils projects.
Support the measurement and valuation of work done on-site, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
Assist in the management of subcontractor accounts, including variations and final account preparation.
Contribute to risk assessments and ensure cost control procedures are followed throughout the project lifecycle.
Help monitor cash flow, ensuring costs align with forecasts and budgetary expectations.
Provide regular progress reports to senior surveyors and project management teams.
Support the preparation and submission of interim valuations and final accounts.Key Requirements:
Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
1-2 years' experience in a Quantity Surveying role, ideally within the heavy civils and infrastructure sectors.
Experience with drainage, earthworks, or groundworks projects is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of construction contracts (NEC3, NEC4, or similar).
Excellent attention to detail and strong numerical skills.
Good communication skills to work effectively with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
Ability to work independently with a proactive attitude.Benefits:
