Transmission Planning Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Transmission Planning Engineer to join a dynamic engineering team working for a high profile telecoms company. This will be an initial 6 months contract.

The Transmission team is responsible for the planning & delivery of the transmission network according to agreed planning guidelines and policies.

The role will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining transmission systems to ensure efficient and reliable communication networks. This role requires a deep understanding of transmission technologies and excellent problem-solving skills.

What we are looking for:

• Extensive knowledge of transmission technologies (both leased line and radio) design knowledge and experience including Ethernet, IP technology, SDH, ATM
• In-depth knowledge of IPVPN technologies and protocols (e.g., MPLS, IPsec).
• Strong understanding of Ethernet networking, including VLANs, STP, and trunking.
• Hands on experience of transmission planning and circuit planning tools in creating transmission solutions.
• Optimisation of capacity and performance of transmission networks
• Experience in a Network Operator or Managed Service Provider environment
• Strong knowledge of the 2G/3G/4G Mobile Transmission Networks
