Operational Risk Manager - AVP/VP

We are partnering with one of the largest commercial banks, who are recruiting for an Operational Risk Manager/VP.

Our client provides customers with comprehensive financial services, including personal banking, corporate banking, investment and wealth management.

Competitive Base salary on offer (dependent on experience), with an exceptional pension scheme and performance related bonus.

Hybrid working – 1 day WFH.

Examples of responsibilities to expect:

• Develop and maintain operational risk management standards and policies
• Maintain 2nd LoD responsibilities and challenge 1st LoD, and other departments identification and management of operational risk
• Lead and co-ordinate the bank's Operational Risk Control Self-Assessment, and maintain the Risk Register.
• Maintain and archive operational risk management documentation e.g policies, risk registers, KRIs, action trackers etc
• Enhance and update key operational risk indicators and controls in line with the development and growth of the bank
• Lead and co-ordinate together with the Operational Risk Manager the annual inter-departmental Business Continuity Policy update, including the embedding of Operational Resilience measures in line with UK regulatory expectations
• Maintain the operational risk incident management and reporting framework including operational risk root cause investigation, identification, assessment and countermeasures, and promotion of the risk- acceptance process

Candidate Requirements:

• 5 years+ experience in Operational/Enterprise Risk or Risk and Control within financial services (preferably within the Banking sector).
• Awareness of industry trends and best practices in Risk Management
• Proficient IT skills particularly in Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Excel
• Strong understanding of relevant regulatory regimes and requirements governing the control and management of ERM, in particular operational risk management
• Ability to deliver accurate and comprehensive risk reports
• General awareness of reputational risk management
