The Role
As an Engineering Buyer, you will play a critical role in the procurement process, focusing specifically on sourcing and purchasing materials, components, and equipment necessary for engineering projects.
This role requires a combination of technical expertise, negotiation skills, and a deep understanding of engineering specifications. You will collaborate closely with the engineering team, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of goods.
Duties and responsibilities:
Identify and source materials, components, and equipment required for engineering projects.
Evaluate potential suppliers, considering factors such as quality, cost, and delivery timelines.
Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure a stable and reliable supply chain
Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure a stable and reliable supply chain
Technical understanding
Work closely with designers and engineering team to understand project requirements and technical speciation's.
Cost negotiation - Negotiate pricing and contract terms with suppliers to ensure cost effectiveness and competitive advantage.
The Candidate
Degree or equivalent in engineering, Supply chain management, or a related field
Proven experience in procurement, specifically engineering or technical setting.
Strong negotiation skills and ability to analyse technical specifications
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of industry standards, regulations and best practises in procurement
