Supplier Quality Engineer (12-Month Contract or Permanent)
Contract:
- Outside IR35: £300 per day
- Fixed-Term Contract: £55,000 - £60,000 per annum
We are seeking a highly skilled Supplier Quality Engineer to join our dynamic team, working on prestigious high-end automotive and motorsport projects. This role focuses on ensuring that our suppliers meet the strict quality standards required for low-volume, high-precision products.
As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for managing supplier performance, conducting audits, and ensuring continuous improvement across the supply chain. This position offers flexibility, with the opportunity for a 12-month contract outside IR35 or a fixed-term contract of up to 60k per annum.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct supplier audits and assessments to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Lead supplier development initiatives to improve quality performance.
- Review and approve supplier PPAPs (Production Part Approval Process) and FAI (First Article Inspection) reports.
- Manage non-conformance reports (NCRs) and work with suppliers to implement corrective actions.
- Support new product development (NPD) and ensure supplier readiness for production ramp-up.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including purchasing, engineering, and operations.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience in a Supplier Quality Engineer role within the automotive or motorsport industry.
- Strong knowledge of quality standards such as ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and AS9100.
- Ability to manage and improve supplier quality performance.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Experience with PPAP, FMEA, and APQP processes.
Quality Engineer (Permanent)
Salary: Up to £40,000/£45,000 per annum
We are also looking for a Quality Engineer to join our high-performing team. In this role, you will ensure that all aspects of product quality meet or exceed customer expectations. You will play a key role in maintaining the highest quality standards in low-volume, high-performance automotive and motorsport projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the implementation and maintenance of quality management systems (QMS).
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for product non-conformities.
- Ensure compliance with customer specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Perform internal audits and assist in external audits.
- Develop and maintain quality documentation, including control plans, FMEA, and work instructions.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and reduce defects.
Key Requirements:
- Experience as a Quality Engineer within the automotive or motorsport sector.
- Strong understanding of quality management systems (ISO 9001, IATF 16949, etc.).
- Experience in problem-solving techniques such as 8D, 5 Whys, and Six Sigma.
- Familiarity with quality tools such as FMEA, PPAP, and control plans.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
