Learning Designer

About the role:

An exciting, casual opportunity to join Box Hill Institute as our Learning Designers!

Within this role you will be designing and developing blended and online resources to support the Teacher Development and Innovation team and Box Hill Institute (BHI) Faculties. You will be ensuring sound and compliant design of innovative, engaging, and effective blended learning courseware, assessment material and learning technologies whilst supporting strategic projects at BHI.

The Learning Designer is a member of the Learning Design team in Teacher Development and Innovation. This position is responsible for working professionally with employees at all levels across the BHI and liaising with relevant internal and external stakeholders, including teachers, operations managers, subject matter experts, commercial clients, and industry partners.

Teacher Development and Innovation works closely with all teaching centres at BHI. It is responsible for providing BHI with a supply of current best practice e-learning resources and teaching tools, to promote the use of blended teaching and assessment.

This role is a casual opportunity until 20 December 2024. Casual hourly rate is PACCT 7.4 $63.27.

About You:

· TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment

· Diploma in Vocational Education and Training or equivalent

· Previous experience in learning design for e-learning and blended learning programs in a Vocational Education and Training or Higher Education environment

· Extensive knowledge of current quality standards, learning theories and principles applicable to e-learning and blended learning

· Experience in drawing on the latest educational trends and learning technologies and applying these in an innovative manner to the design and development of assessment tools and strategies, learning resources and templates

· Excellent organisational and project coordination skills

· Able to use both common and job-specific software applications and features proficiently for a variety of more complex work tasks; assists others with problem-solving computer issues related to work tasks where requested; able to create content within Learning Management Systems; is comfortable using/learning rapid authoring software such as H5P

· Applies interpersonal skills to actively listen to and interpret client needs; is committed to delivering high quality instructional materials for clients in a customer focused educational environment; seeks ways to continuously improve services

· Able to work collaboratively within an academic community
