Communications Officer - Anti-Discrimination NSW

  • arramatta with flexible working arrangements available
  • Employment Type - Temporary opportunity until 27 June 2025 – Full time (35 hrs per week)
  • Salary - Clerk Grade 5/6, Base Salary ($93,295 - $102,941), plus employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading

Your role

Anti-Discrimination NSW (ADNSW) strives to eliminate discrimination in New South Wales by resolving enquiries and complaints, raising awareness about discrimination and its impacts, and taking action to influence change.

What you’ll do

Provide the corporate branding and communications requirements of Anti-Discrimination NSW and ensure the production of high-quality communications that enable the agency to reach clients and stakeholders.

You will also:

  • Produce Anti-Discrimination NSW communications including website content, newsletter content, social media content and factsheets.
  • Manage media enquiries and produce media releases.
  • Develop collateral and co-designed resources to raise awareness of the LGBTQ+ conversion practices ban and the new civil response scheme.
  • Organise events, including venue hire, catering, invitation lists etc.
  • Maintain relationships with key providers such as digital media providers, printers, graphic designers, and the Department of Communities and Justice’s Communications Unit and Media Unit.
  • Select innovative, relevant, contemporary communication channels and contemporary specialised software and media within a limited budget. Prioritise and maintain schedules, where requirements may shift according to circumstances and respond flexibly and efficiently to occasional competing priorities.

What we’re looking for

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and works well in a team. You are resilient and able to work with competing priorities to agreed standards, budgets, and timeframes.

  • Tertiary qualifications in communications or a related discipline or equivalent experience

Appointments are subject to reference checks. Some roles may also require the following checks/ clearances:

  • National Criminal History Record Check in accordance with the Disability Inclusion Act 2014
  • Working with Children Check clearance in accordance with the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012
