Operations Support Manager

UK Wide Travel

£500 - 650pd Inside IR35


We are looking for an Operations Support Manager to assist with our client’s supplier base, by creating strong relationships to enhance and improve Cost, Quality and Delivery to our customer.

The role will be UK wide, with the majority of your time spent on supplier sites travelling both domestically and/or internationally. nurturing relationships with across many sectors including Defence, Aerospace & Marine.


You will be responsible for -

  • Using a creative approach will establish sustainable, long term supply chains, providing a competitive edge for our client, our customers, and suppliers.
  • working with specific suppliers or plants to define the support programme and provide transparency on resources and activities required to address performance issues.
  • leading the execution of the support programme and integrate across organisational boundaries to deliver it.
  • As an Operations Support Manager you will support engagements with the supply chain from the initial analytics, through the engagement to exit and handover back to the Supplier Management Team or Manufacturing Plant.
  • You will drive the identification, development and implementation of these robust supply chain processes and tools to prevent future risks of failure.
  • Reporting to the Head of Operations Support, you will take responsibility for driving performance with supply chain.

  • Strong team player, able to lead cross functional teams and drive sustainable change to meet quality and delivery improvements across the supply chain.
  • Effective problem solver, with knowledge and experience of using lean tools and techniques successfully to deliver improvements and create value.
  • Understanding of value stream mapping and Lean Toolbox
  • Experience of leading significant projects/activities across a range of improvement activities.
  • Operational (manufacturing) experience
  • Understanding of component engineering supply chains
  • Experience in escalating within an organisation
  • Planning & control knowledge / experience
  • Program management knowledge / experience.
  • Engineering knowledge/experience.
  • Knowledge of SAP.
  • Able to work in challenging environments with great engagement and influencing skills to build trust and strong relationships across all levels.
