CFO - TELECOMMS, TMT, IT/SAAS MANAGED SERVICES
Directorbank are currently recruiting for a CFO for a Private Equity backed business within the managed services sector. The role is to be based in the Manchester area.
REQUIREMENT FOR A NEW CFO:
In the last few months, the company has been building a first-class multidisciplinary organisation that has all the requisite skills and experience to deliver the business plan.
The appointment of a CFO is the final component in building this team and they are therefore searching for specific experience and expertise combined with strong and effective leadership skills.
THE ROLE
Overall Purpose:
To direct and oversee all financial activities, including preparing financial reports and forecasts/budgets for the Board and management, reporting to the CEO.
The role manages a small finance team and is also expected to interface closely with a variety of parties within and outside the business.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Organisation and systems:
They are in the process of integrating two businesses into one. Operations and Sales are progressing towards full integration. Finance is currently run separately for both companies, therefore, one of the main tasks for the CFO is to ensure they have complete integration of the companies, including CRM, billing functions, and finance platforms across both companies.
Other responsibilities will include:
- Consolidate the corporate structure in a tax optimised way;
- Implement single billing platform across all companies within the group;
- Work with CIO to integrate software platforms;
- Deliver reliable and timely financial and management reporting and to significantly improve the quality and timely provision of data for their PE investor
- Weekly exec management reporting;
- Weekly investor reporting;
- Periodic reporting to lenders;
- Board Pack preparation and ownership;
- To be a proactive member of the executive management and board;
- Transform the finance function into a proactive function rather than a filter or scorekeeper;
- To review the structure and individuals within the finance function to ensure the company has the right team in the right roles, effectively motivated and managed, with development plans;
- To negotiate a migration of existing debt providers a new facility with additional headroom;
- To have reviewed and centralised customer contracts and ensure renewal trigger points are contained within the CRM;
- To ensure a centralised repository and periodic contract review system in operation, capable and always due diligence ready;
- To review the sales forecasts and installation programmes to provide accurate reporting.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Fully qualified, preferably having trained with a large accountancy or audit firm;
- You live within commuting distance of central Manchester;
- You have worked with one or more private equity backed businesses;
- You have worked for either an IT/ telecommunications / SAAS / TMT or similar managed services business;
- You have experience of implementing finance systems and integrating other business applications;
- Led the finance function within a managed services and recurring revenue business;
- Led an exit for a PE backed business.

REMUNERATION
A generous six figure basic salary, bonus, car allowance and potential for equity for the right candidate, leading to a genuine wealth creation opportunity.
