About the job
In this role you will:
- Work alongside the Practice Development Team and Autism Services teams to embed supported decision-making in everyday practice, advising practitioners on how best to achieve this for autistic people who may have learning disabilities and/or high support needs.
- To support efforts to facilitate access to community activities, autistic spaces, and democratic processes.
- To facilitate a Leadership Development Programme that will allow the people we support to gain confidence, knowledge and skills to advocate for their rights, needs and aspirations in both internal and external forums.
- To support the meaningful inclusion of the autistic people we support, and the wider autistic community, in our organisational communications and campaigning.
- To facilitate an Autistic Advisory Panel that will contribute to strategic organisational decisions on a range of themes. This may include practice development; internal and external learning programmes and activities; policy campaigning priorities; and organisational communications.
- To support organisation-wide efforts to provide accessible communication – including board papers; Executive reports and strategy communications; regular internal communications, policies and learning resources.
About You
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
- Coaching and facilitation skills
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams
- Ability to innovate and inspire colleagues and supported people towards a shared vision of a more inclusive organisation
- A strong commitment to participatory approaches to support practice, research, and campaigning.
- Ability to distil complex information into key messages and communicate clearly.
- Ability to engage people with a diverse range of communication styles and preferences.
