Job Description
Our client, a prominent player in the automation, power utilities, energy, and renewables sector, is seeking a dedicated Instrumentation Engineer to join their team. This permanent role involves ensuring the maintenance and seamless operation of the production and gas plant facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Identifying, scheduling, and carrying out routine and non-routine maintenance checks and repairs
Maintaining various types of process control instrumentation equipment, including transmitters, controllers, and analysers
Assisting in or carrying out vendor-specified routine maintenance
Ensuring all site services are in good working order and adhere to safe working practices
Responding to 24-hour call-outs or providing advice on plant breakdowns outside normal working hours
Maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of facilities, ensuring the elimination of preventable hazards
Assisting during the installation and commissioning of new plant facilities
Liaising with and supervising contractors to ensure quality and adherence to company standards
Job Requirements:
Experience in controls and instrumentation (CORE), maintenance, and instrumentation
Good working knowledge of electrical systems
Understanding of the oil and gas industry
Ability to work independently or within a team with minimal supervision
Ability to plan and prioritise daily activities ensuring safety and efficiency
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to cope with pressured situations
IT literacy
Instrument qualification (apprenticeship or NVQ level 3) with maintenance experience on related equipment
