EMC Test engineer

Job Description
Our client, a distinguished company in the manufacturing and engineering industry, is currently seeking an EMC Test Engineer to join their team in Fareham on a permanent basis. This role is pivotal in providing comprehensive EMC testing services to a wide range of industry sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
Conducting EMC testing in both screened enclosures and in-situ environments
Maintaining electronic logbooks and collating data
Writing test plans (where required) and reports
Developing and evaluating test equipment and methods
Generating test procedures, including providing photos and measurement uncertainty calculations
Assisting customers during the failure phase of their EMC test programme and offering general consultancy prior to the start of the job
Validating clients' requirements, which may require site visits
Supporting the sales team with information to enable quote generation
Developing expertise in a specific area of testing, including rail, marine, radio EMC requirements, etc.
Providing training to engineers regarding specialist areas
Participating in continuous improvement projects
Job Requirements:
Qualification in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or recent experience in a practical electrical/electronic engineering role
A self-driven and enthusiastic approach, with a focus on high quality
Motivation to learn and develop technical skills
Ability to manage testing alongside reporting
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Flexibility and willingness to work offsite or conduct shift work, as required
Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and bespoke test systems
Possession of a full driving licence and own vehicle to support offsite testing and shift work
Desirable Criteria:
Experience in an EMC Test Engineer role within a test house environment
Knowledge and understanding of the EMC Directive and/or relevant EMC test standards
Experience managing test projects from set-up to completion, including the creation of reports
