Job title: Procurement Manager
£70,000 - £75,000 + Great Benefits (including car allowance)

About the Job
To manage a small team and will be responsible for all of the company’s material sourcing.
Key tasks:
· Channel new market intelligence and information about new materials and applications to the Sales team.
· Develop relationships with out existing and potential suppliers to ensure we are their preferred customer of choice.
· Support the business commercially and negotiate the best commercial price to enable us to win business and develop it in the future.
· Continually examine our material costs and explore opportunities to maintain or ideally improve upon our margin.
· Understand and react to market pressures in terms of material availability.
· Ensure that all materials purchased conform to customer specifications and comply with all legislative and regulatory controls.
· Minimise working capital by working with suppliers and logistics to reduce working capital without compromising customer service.
· Work with suppliers to improve their OTIF delivery performance.
· Support the business in its ongoing product development by sourcing new materials / suppliers.
About you
The candidate must have at least 5 years post qualification experience. Manufacturing experience is essential along with demonstrable success of strategic purchasing preferable within the chemical, healthcare or food sectors. Ideally, they will have the following personal attributes and experience:
· Tenacious, self-starter, committed and hardworking.
· Honesty and integrity.
· Educated to degree level, preferable science based with a professional purchasing qualification (Qualified CIPS member).
