Engineering Service Manager

Overview:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Service Manager to join a leading Engineering company, pivotal to the ambitious growth of their service department. In this role, you will oversee a team of 20-25 Engineers and Supervisors, ensuring excellence in service delivery and operational efficiency. Your leadership will play a crucial part in driving the strategic evolution of the service business.

Key Responsibilities:

As the Service Manager, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Team Management: Lead a dynamic field service team, conducting technical inspections and overseeing job management processes to ensure quality and productivity.
Product & Complaint Management: Implement policies for product liability issues and oversee complaint resolution related to field activities, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
Customer Service: Maintain high standards of installation and service, aiming for complete customer satisfaction through effective management of field activities.
New Product Development: Ensure operational readiness of the field service team, providing necessary training and recommending improvements to processes.
Cross-Departmental Support: Collaborate with other departments to provide technical support and maintain strong relationships across teams for a cohesive management approach.
Administrative Oversight: Coach and train team members, maintain high levels of customer service, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

Skills & Experience Required:

To excel in this role, you will need:

Proven experience in a Service Management role, including financial and personnel management within the engineering sector.
A strong technical background, with expertise in electrical, electronic, or mechanical equipment
Ideally, have a background in Engineering
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
Excellent communication, planning, project, and time management skills.

Person Specification:

The ideal candidate will be:

Self-motivated with a strong commitment to completing tasks to a high standard.
Results-driven, both individually and within a team setting.
An effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills.

Salary:

£50,000 - £60,000 basic salary (Depending on experience)
Target led bonus (approx 10% of salary)
25 days holiday a year, with the ability to buy up to 5 days holiday each year
